While it&#039;s sometimes a natural process during flowering, premature or extensive yellowing often indicates nutrient problems, stress, or disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Natural yellowing<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes turning yellow is normal:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Older leaves: Leaves at the bottom of the plant may turn yellow and fall off during late flowering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aging: The plant concentrates its energy on new buds, older leaves die off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please note: This is normal when only a few lower leaves turn yellow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Feeding problems<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>a. Nitrogen deficiency (N)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Symptoms: Yellow leaves start at the bottom leaves and spread upwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Solution: Feed with a nitrogen-rich fertilizer during the vegetative phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>b. Magnesium deficiency (Mg)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Symptoms: Yellow spots between the leaf veins, leaves sometimes curl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Solution: Use magnesium-containing fertilizers or Epsom salts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>c. Other shortages<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Iron (Fe): young leaves yellow, veins remain green.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Potassium (K): Leaves turn yellow and burn at the edges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Overwatering or root problems<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Too much water can lead to oxygen deficiency in the roots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Roots rot and cannot absorb nutrients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Symptoms: Leaves turn yellow, limp and often fall off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Solution:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Allow the top 2\u20133 cm of soil to dry out before watering again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Provide good drainage and ventilation in the pot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"4\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>pH problems<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Too high or too low pH disrupts nutrient absorption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Symptoms: yellowing, brown edges or spots, sometimes entire plant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Solution:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In soil: pH 6.0\u20136.8<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In coco or hydro: pH 5.5\u20136.2<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Check regularly and adjust if necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"5\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Pests and diseases<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Root rot (Pythium): causes yellowing and drooping of leaves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fungi: Some fungi cause mottled or yellowing leaves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Insects: Aphids and spider mites can turn the leaves yellow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Solution:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Inspect the plant regularly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use biological or chemical control where necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Remove severely affected leaves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"6\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Stress factors<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Too much light or heat can burn leaves and cause them to turn yellow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cold or temperature changes cause stress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rapid changes in nutrition or watering can accelerate yellowing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"7\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Prevention and care<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Keep the diet balanced and adjust to the growth phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Measure the pH and EC of water and nutrient solutions regularly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ensure adequate ventilation and correct temperature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Inspect plants regularly for pests and diseases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Only remove naturally yellowing leaves if they are hindering the plant.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yellow leaves are one of the most common signs that something is wrong with cannabis plants.
